Awakening to the Movement of Love
A Continuum Workshop
Friday, November 21, 2008 to Sunday, November 23, 2008
Based on the groundbreaking movement and self realization technique, Continuum Movement is an in-depth exploration of our fluid origins and the creative potential of water to innovate new life.

What distinguishes Continuum Movement from other movement practices is that one does not follow a learned and prescribed system of movements. Instead, unique breath, sound and movement practices are taught and then used to initiate personal movement exploration.
This workshop will integrate the Continuum Movement with the perspectives and practices of the Sufi tradition. The goal of many Sufi practices is to bring more light to the body. By searching the spaces within the body and bringing our consciousness into them, we become more expansive, permeable and responsive. We will discover the space of the heart and how the qualities and conditions of the heart radiate throughout our entire system in harmony with the breath.
Breath and sound practices will be used to initiate movement and we will become aware of the different ways of perceiving, sensing and attending to life through the body. Moving individually and communally, we will explore a dynamic range of inner movement from the expressions of creative dance and improvisation to the contemplative interior exploration of the deep stillness that resides in all movement.
Robin Becker is a teacher, dancer, choreographer and Authorized Teacher of Continuum Movement. She has performed with the Martha Graham Dance Company and has her own dance company of which she has been the artistic director for fifteen years. Her work is deeply influenced by twenty-five years of study within the Sufi Order of the West and by Continuum, and innovative somatic practice. She leads workshops on creativity and improvisation and is committed to working with people as they seek a deeper connection to life through the body.
